I really like this idea but with a few caveats. I think what this does for small ships is great - it allows them to pack far more weaponry but at the cost of fragility. However, I wouldn't like to see large ships using antimatter reactors for the most part. Maybe the explosion could scale...
The scope and scale of projects in starmade tend to be much larger and more complicated than in minecraft. As a result, having to periodically interrupt building your capital ship or station with mandatory farming/eating breaks would make the game much, much worse. I would really not like to see...
That's pretty much the entire point, in fact I should have put that in the OP. I really want another seamless block to work with that's a little more refined looking than raw stone.
Edit - Can't forget wedges/heptras/tetras so you can build concrete silos and such.
Please add a concrete block, similar to rock but with a smoother texture. It would be cheap to mass produce and stronger than most normal building materials, but at the cost of higher mass. Similarly, there could be reinforced concrete blocks, which are highly resistant to damage and cheaper...

i tested this with a cannon and everything you said seems to be true, except curiously the armor damage bonus was +90% for both. I used only a 1 cannon module/1 effect module setup and got 19 armor damage per shot with both punch-through and pierce, when I expected 12 and 15 respectively. didn't...
Much like rails can send signals when docked on, a docking module should be able to send a logic signal while attached to a rail. I think this would be a very useful feature for automating docking procedures.
