This is a cool idea! You could have a stationary mining station, then just feed it asteroids like a wood chipper. ...And if asteroids re-spawn where they are moved like I've heard you could have them on a conveyor belt re-cycling them...

I got a faction block in my hotbar earlier. Nothing happened when I used it. It was removable like any other computer. A harmless little bug I assume.
