It would be better to just have some sort of navigation system. The ship could use it to travel between multiple waypoints automatically. That would be more useful than taking a direct path to the destination since you probably want to stay clear of stars and enemy territory.
I would like to see the new power system replaced with something that gives a lot more option for power sources.
I want different power sources like solar power, hydrogen fuel cells, chemical rockets, fission, fusion, and antimatter.

I build all of my stuff on a server, I don't use single player apart from messing with dev builds.
Spawning in blueprints is a bit inconvenient, but less resource types wouldn't make it less annoying. Working shipyards would make things easier.

The crafting system used to be a lot more complex than it is now.
Everything is now pretty simple and easy to make. The most complex thing is advanced armor, which can be easily automated.
I don't think it needs to be simplified even more.
Why not add the ability to change the appearance of a beam segment by linking different blocks to the stabilizer node?
At least that way you could use it to add something to your build. Different colors and textures would be nice if the beam was kept at a reasonable size.

Now the empty space we have to have in our ships isn't even usable for interior rooms.
Not to mention the 20% drop in framerate.
From my testing of the pre release, I would say we got nerfed massively. The power consumption for shields, factories and weapons is ridiculous. The mass has been significantly increased on a lot of the decorative blocks too, making them unusable on small, light weight builds.

I would like the option to switch off individual weapons on ships to prevent them from constantly drawing power.
Disabling a weapon would discharge any stored power and have a cooldown time, but it wouldn't draw any standby power.

I find it rather annoying that you have to switch back and forth between place and remove mode if you want to see what you are going to remove.
It seems like the new shield system will make it a lot easier to damage a ship.
They really need to add a proper way of repairing ships first. It's a pain in the ass to have to scrap a ship and rebuild every time it takes some damage.

It would allow you to share information with any other ship on the same encrypted channel.

It makes no sense to have top speed limited by the thrust to mass ratio.
Plasma thrusters can propel a space craft to tens of km/s with tiny amounts of thrust. It just takes a long time to accelerate and they could never get it off the ground.
It would be nice if we actually had air in our ships. It seems like it would take a lot of CPU power to check if an area is sealed air tight, especially once you start taking damage in combat.

I like the idea of having LOD turrets that have firepower similar to the hand held weapons.
They should have their own shields rather than using the ships shields so they are not invincible.
There could be different turret mounts, bodies, and weapon modules to customize them.
