At the risk of going off topic I'd like to assert that this sort of discussion is simultaneously productive and moot. The final game will have so many options open to the server operator that one client will plug into one server and the user will experience something completely other from...
Unless you are SP mode big ships are just not going to be economical. Always better to live to fight another day anyhow. I'd rather give up a big ship now and get some help either stealing it or winning it back later. There are other options. Self destruct. Kill the raiding party with internal...
It adds a new dimension to faction warefare. CAPTURE. Disable and board a ship after getting the captain to surrender. The ship is many times more valuable as a new fleet asset or salvage then as a disintegrating hulk.
1: destroy the turrets
2: eliminate all support
3: capture or destroy the...
Duly noted morti. As I added to fire's post; please keep your intel to private channels. Especially if you intend to name names.
Best of luck with your fleet and security system installation.
The poll is still moot as any server can elect (based on THEIR user feed back) whether or not to use buy-with-blocks or BwB; instead of BwC.
Feedback on SMD has little to do with how servers auto govern. I don't know why people fail to understand that.
Combat specific craft are going to become massive. As in MASS. But they will have tiny silhouettes in comparison to non-combat cruise ships. Utilitarian craft will also be very minimalist, with just a tiny amount of internal space to be able to slip into the shipcore. It'll be easier to have a...
A meta item is like the guns and helmets. There are many useful meta items we simply can't craft yet. For now they will do nicely. I imagine selling guns near an on-foot PvP arena would make a pretty penny if 'drop inventory on death' were enabled in that sector.
Buy the parts at a player's shop! Having a market place would be boss. Someone leaves a shop NPC at a booth they rent from that station's owner and bada-boingo you have a lot of people in one place to buy from.
I can tell you the i5 will totally run StarMade. I have an i7 and an Atom z3745 both running fine. Client mode only on the Atom tho. Anyhow yes the i5 will mos-def run this and do a good job on stock setting BUT intel does make finding the right driver a trial. I'd suggest looking up driver...
Is that a double barrel turret in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
Now see I dig that idea. Because how often do we have a metric glazed bun load of blocks but still only fly around in a core? It'd be so much cooler to just let a ship assemble itself and jump in. For the few seconds...
I want to laugh but some part of me says it's wrong..
But yeah, the veterans on the servers do have a massive jumpstart. That puts you in the ideal position to enlist newbies and offer them some nice, proven, ship designs and your knowledge.
The poll is moot. Every server will be different with their own way of doing things. So just kick around servers that don't use features you don't like.
