Your concern is well justified. StarMade HATES large numbers of overlapping collision check boxes and I have the blueprint catalogue to prove it. For example, the ship in my avatar used to be my primary AI fleet defense ship; mounting between 8 and 20 turrets depending on "model refinement"...
If SmilingDemon is correct, a can or two of compressed air could help get rid of dust if you can't disassemble the unit. Spray the vents on bottom and the sides of the laptop. Be sure to keep the can upright so you don't get any of that mist into the computer.
My occupation is actually desktop support so I may be able to help you.
As for the fix for my issue, I replaced the cheap fan/heatsink that came with my I7 CPU with an older version of this...
What are your PC specs?
Do you use Hardware Monitor or a similar program to keep an eye on you system temperature? I once had a CPU that would overheat and lockup my PC; especially when playing StarMade. Adding a large cooling fan got rid of the problem by cutting the temperature in half.
Even if it's not Schine's project, It's most likely real. It's been demonstrated that you can use turret axis blocks (and a fair amount of math skills) to make artificial multi-plate planets.
Given that I've made a 400m+ artificial multi-sided spherical planet and SkylordLuke has made a...
Neon's talking about something totally different than what this thread is about.
This is essentially a boarding/ship capture proposal. Neon's talking about instanced sectors. Unfortunately, that's not really related to this topic.
A friend and I once used "stealth missiles", torches and grapple beams to commandeer a capital ship that was attacking my base.
Some clown was bullying less established players by visiting their bases and firing at anything that moved. He came to my base while some friends were...
It's been a while since I worked on launch bays and torpedoes but I'll offer my most recent info.
As of now, it is still possible to create unguided warhead weapons (although, I can't vouch for the effectiveness of Warheads in the current build). You must turn off thrust dampening and then...
Yes... YES!!! Must OBFUSCATE!!! Must... Hide!!! ...in plain sight!!!
I think it would be awesome to have a stealth chamber upgrade that is usable on stations, planets and asteroids to obscure it's true nature and make it appear as something else. The chamber should be able to be set to...
It's a smoothed out Icosahedron; a 20-sided polyhedron with "rounded" triangular faces.
MConlisk, a good way to determine size of this planet is to...
- Build a simple ship in the shape of a straight line and measure the diameter of the planet like a tape measure.
- Build a core and use the...
My artificial planet is 400 meters in diameter (not counting city buildings). When I compare a picture of Shine's new planet next to mine and an old 550m(+/-) dodecahedron planet base I was working on, the new planet looks bigger, judging by the size of the individual blocks. My guess is it's...
Thanks. I was trying to wait for Schine's new icosahedron planets but it's been a year and a half and I really need my planet base fix. I was getting the jitters and cold sweats. Terraforming is a hell of a drug!
If you are unable or unwilling to replicate the effect, copy and paste can become your best friend. Visit planets and copy parts that interest you. You'd be surprised what you can come up with.
