Warp Gates exist. This idea sounds very similar.
Oh and Warp Drive Computer+Modules. These allow you to warp anywhere for up the 8 sectors I think, before having to recharge. But people have devised logic to auto recharge these in their ships.

Once an entity is docked, I'm not sure. I haven't had much luck in that respect.
However, you can just push asteroids. I've done it many times to position them where I want.

I think a universal display block with all the existing orientation capabilities of the hull blocks would be nice.
For the transparency, have an option to turn it on/off. I like having a solid computer screen looking display at different stations, but like you say, for cockpit view...
Sadly, I found you can't dock in reverse.
However, if the player unticks the docked entities in navigation, anything docked to the asteroid is invisible to sensors. :-)
