      This sounds like a pretty good idea(s). Combined with my idea for pilot seats, this may in fact render core drilling less likely to be used. However, we still need some method of boarding a ship and destroying or hacking faction blocks once a ship has been disabled.

      Considering my belief that FTL should be necessary to travel even between two adjacent star systems in any less than 15-20 minutes (and without running into pirates sneaking around in deep space), I don\'t support the idea of FTL fuel...       I\'m neutral on this... If there\'s a cool (and fluidly-blending) cutscene or something, then I wouldn\'t mind the instantiation, but if it is just a standard loading screen, then I\'d hate it... It would break immersion like crazy. (Ever played Star Trek Online? Then you know what I mean. :P)

      That\'s the idea. Another suggestion of mine, though I haven\'t posted it, is (slow) handheld repair/healing beams, so that if a bunch of people got to Main Engineering/the core room in time and all shot their repair beams at the core it could bring it back up to 100%.
