      Starmade V0.158

Yeah, sorry about the rage. I think I'll just go up and overwrite my posts up there... :P

      Thruster changes

Once again, Cal, sorry about all the raging. It just seemed totally ridiculous at the time.

      Starmade V0.158

Never mind guys; Cal messed up the config, he put a 0.1 where there's supposed to be a 1.1; thrust will be a bit better when a patch is released, though the diminished returns will still apply. Smaller ships should work a lot better, and larger ones should... still be slow, but be a bit more...

      No "Space Friction" When Accellerating

IIRC, once a ship/other body travels out of loaded sectors it stops. So it's not all that bad.

      Whoa, what's that tool?

      No "Space Friction" When Accellerating

How about no Space Friction unless you toggle it on with some special block? That way, people can cruise around while walking, and can fly at a set speed.

      Is this game dead?

Yep. Thrust should be logic-toggleable, and the push module trick, which doesn't amount to much more than the starship equivalent of an amusing party trick, doesn't change that.

      Countermeasures (better for smaller ships)

If we have countermeasures and counter-countermeasures, why not counter-counter-countermeasures? Upgraded versions of countermeasures that are less likely to be effected by counter-countermeasures? ... :P

Docking and the upcoming home base points system should use mass/block counts, not box sizes.

Yes, but not because the docking ports can't hold bigger things on them without random antennas sticking out of an unrelated part of the station. There's a massive problem with this: there are two ways to get the volume variable for your density calculation; one would encourage idiot cubes...

Turret (balancing) arc/facing and docking logic. AI with more options and targetable missiles

That would require volume calculations, which apparently have a heavy performance cost.

      Is this game dead?

The difference is that the logic system can't currently be used to make a practical AI, and the BOBBY AI system should cover all 'standard' AI functions, such as autonavigation, auto-redocking, etc. anyway.

expanding upon the in-game universe map (opened through "p")

...Single people need the ability to protect their inactive ships and stations as well. Otherwise massive ragequits will occur. Not everyone has decided what faction to join, not everyone is ready to join a faction, and not everyone wants to even join a faction.

      Is this game dead?

Yay, first semipractical application since... ever. Besides gravlifts. But shouldn't that be a feature of AI, not logic?

      Chairs n' Viewscreens... And stuff?

Nah, Schema vaguely said that he eventually wanted to implement (presumably working) furniture of some kind, but he never specified anything.

      StarMade 0.157 (optimization & fixes)

Fuel for regular travel would be a pain in the ass, but I'm okay with ship-based FTL requiring some kind of valuable crystal that breaks after a certain amount of uses.

      Player anchoring

Wow, a bed-type block (or more accurately double-block) actually sounds like an excellent idea. It could even show a player's model on top of it. +1 to a great idea +1 bonus point for suggesting a non-awkward interior block which is actually functional. The more of these sorts of things there...

      Is this game dead?

Even in Minecraft, ever since Indev (a.k.a. very early survival alpha, post-Survival Test and pre-infinite worlds) there was (very) necessary, relatively interesting crafting, gear progression, an aesthetically and functionally varied set of enemies, relevant resource management, creatures of...
