I actually did start writing this up before that was posted and just read it now. I've been reading off and on peoples' desire to have a "survival mode" in starmade this post is more a question of can starmade with the way building and resource acquisition is actually have a legitimate survival...

My guess is that the ship isn't power stable to fire all of its weapons the way the ai works is it holds down every weapons button all the time so if it fires your beams and cannons and then doesn't have the power left to fire the missiles and then the beam recharges and and it has enough power...

what are you talking about? If you actually read what he said and my post which he replied to in the post you quoted he is against swarm missiles targeting the crew of the ship they come from but for them still not having a friend or foe identifier meaning that swarm missiles should still target...
what he meant by hit your own ships is this ... you fire your heatseakers they leave your bounding box scan for targets find your passengers come in and detonate on your hull which they can't damage instead of killing stuff inside your ship by going through your walls a second time.
I'm not honestly sure it makes sense to have warp gates that you can gate to a ship with. It would make sense that from the ship you could create a tunnel to a "know location aka a stationary warp gate" but i don't see any reason why they would work the other way.

Imo it has more to do with the fact that people just don't have anything to do.
New Weapons came out quite a while ago which made battling and designing new and interesting again for a while then we had the rail update which while awesome still doesn't...
Still not sure what you mean.... Every possible conceivable "alien shape" they could put in is still going to be 2 tall 1 wide 1 deep block shaped for balance reasons and i still think you could design skins for the current model that look like anything you want in a 1x2x1 shape
what exactly is a "playable" alien race.... right now you can be anything you want ala minecraft there is only 1 (now 2) models in minecraft however with "skins" you can be a creeper a girl a punk rocker a skeleton alien slime pretty much anything you want..... with skins in starmade you can...
you've probably considered this but with the mis design the second beam fires early causeing your system to temporarily go into power drain mode or at least it should if both beams fired at any one time maybe that is the issue.
as gr said power supply beams are currently bugged when logic fired and aren't supplying 20% of the power they are supposed to be (one of the ticks is not ticking right now)
you could try adding cannon slave to the system that might negate some of the negative effects although if its literally just the last tick that is "not fireing" the cannon might not do anything.
sure you could docked reactors op but i think you would have to trade off something either thrust or shields possibly all of one and some of another if you wanted a full on titan level weapons system and permacloaking.
there are hopefully some things coming with the ai update like including specific targetting parameters per turret so you could say have 30 pd turrets 10 of them are set to fire at missiles 2k or farther away 10 of them are set to fire at missiles 500 - 1999 meters away and 10 of them are set to...
