This is an alright idea, the implication that certain 'groups' would claim the galaxies and fix it to their way. So instead of the game making things unique (requiring coding time) the players make it so. Such a small idea could make a big difference.

Lasers to not disappear but lose damage over time. I voted this, but I'd rather they were kept the same if paired with a sniper style kit. I always thought of kinetic being the sniper and laser being short range for some reason.
