I would like to take one of them hostage and offer a ransom to their home world and get money that way. a mini game of bluffing? they can come after you and kill you. also with the new boarding stuff added, it would be fun if npcs boarded your ship and you and your crew needs to fight them

( 1 - ( ap * am ) ) ( sp ( ag * m )
ap = ship armor percentage
am = block armor multiplier
sp = speed percentage according to server limit
m = mass
a ship of 500 mass would receive 11250 damage traveling at max server speed...
i do like the lone astronaut thing. I think the crashed pod needs to contain a few supplies then combined with the planet's resources, have the ability to get the astronaut out of the gravity well. (lot of crafting).

yes yes yes, this would be awesome. linking display blocks together to form a big screen and linking them all to a camera should be able to display a more detailed view of outside
smaller ships should be harder to hit with turrets while larger ones are easier to hit. i don't know if this is already implemented in the game but i think it would be good.

Well the smart aliens with technology would probably travel around and concur everything so it won't be that hard to find them anyways, i think big rare monsters that drop loot would be more fun.
I see your point, but i do not agree having a bubble, I think it should just be with the shape of the ship but i do like the idea of the full power to the frontal shields. The new block would have to give ships 2 types of shields and i think there should just be 1 type of shield
Aliens sound very interesting. Would it be possible to have different races or aliens originating on different planets? Maybe there can be passive animals originating from some of the planets. maybe having the intelligence level depend on how well developed each alien's home planets are. Like...

Yes, I do agree with that, the damage should be determined on the parameters of the collision such as speed, angle of approach, mass, points of contact, and such things like that. Then that damage should go into shields, then individual blocks.
I do agree on the collisions doing damage to the shields but i think that the push effect will be kind of annoying. i think when the movement of the ships should be determined by the speed of travel, the mass of the ship, and the points of contact. Shape is a hard one to implement though. For...
