On top of needing to download 64bit Java, you also need to tell the game it can use more ram (allocating more ram). You do this from the first launcher window by clicking options > memory settings. For 8gb total system, it's safe to allocate around 6gb (6144 mb) in the 'maximal' box.

It generally is a wqaste of time - as many people look for very different things in servers. I myself love complicated spawn stations, infinite resources and I'm generally not bothered by slower server performance, since all I do is build. It's all up to the individual players tastes.

Or you know... Just edit your settings.cfg file to the speed you want. The line is in there.

Personally, I am all for slight inaccuracy with SOME weapons. However, they should not be inaccurate all the time. First few shots needs to be pinpoint as they are now, and gradually get less accurate the longer you hold down the trigger for rapid fire things (minus beams, they stay accurate)...
