      Naming Weapon Systems

I just call things CCPi, CCPu, BPI, BMO, etc.

Who else doesn't like the new planets?

Because there are more people who like or don't care about the new planets who haven't bothered clicking the thread because it doesn't appeal to them. You're assuming that all players are looking at this thread.

      Fighter Contest!

pewpewpew. Good for killing astronauts and other tiny tiny ships. AWFUL for anything else. Has a tiny, tiny nuke. Don't shoot your eye out.

      Fluids are fluids.

Instead of Minecraft... How about we talk about Dwarf Fortress fluid dynamics? THAT'S laggy. Minecraft fluids are not.

      Big ships, small ships

You take out a capital ship with either another capital ship or a lot more smaller ships.

What's most important to you when designing a ship?

These days, I build the main gun where I think it'll go. Then I build some secondary weapons nearby. After I've finished that, I build something that looks like a gun housing for both - hull it in, make sure they have enough power to fire occasionally, etc. After the weapons are finished, I...

      Fluids are fluids.

Pretty sure flowing liquids are planned.

      Make small arms penetrate shields

Can park a ship in a protected sector, then spawn a Station block inside of it. Makes it very, very difficult to ram out of sector.

      The Tartaran Empire - Recruiting

Alright - so... At least attempt to stay in-sector or something, if it's that big of a problem. What distance would you consider to be a victorious retreat?

      The Tartaran Empire - Recruiting

Though I'm neither in TE nor CR, perhaps allowances could be made for missile spam against kiters? It might be a problem of ship design, but it can definitely be worked around by allowing for a more even playing field. Backing into an asteroid or lagging across a sector border could give the...

      The Tartaran Empire - Recruiting

Personally, I occasionally use sniper ships with high thrust to stay away from enemies' main guns while putting out damage that way. It is a legitimate tactic - if an infuriating one for the slower ship.

      Make small arms penetrate shields

Better idea: Shields are tuned to prevent high energy objects from impacting. A pistol round is a low energy object. Were shields not tuned to prevent only high energy objects from impacting, then walking inside your ship would be awfully difficult.

      The Odium Pact

Our faction's behavior was centered around individual accomplishment. Our ships were not standardized - those ships that were considered "standard" were only as such because the builder was the only one who volunteered to make general purpose ships. Everybody else had a large degree of pride in...

      The Odium Pact

Zoro declined us to save face after we told you guys to blow it out your ass. On the topic of VT, just to keep things clear, I am no longer affiliated with them. These statements are entirely my own observations of what happened internally before we responded to the invitation most negatively.

      The Odium Pact

The request was made some time ago, while VT was still quite active and capable in combat. We were invited, and we collectively said "Hell no." I politely request that you not attempt to rewrite history.

      The Odium Pact

Well, I can certainly applaud the decision to make this information public. Tells the rest of us who to shoot on sight. Though, the way you present that last statement makes it seem almost as if you're threatening those factions who choose to not join up - which felt almost like the case when...
