      Your ship systems are debuffed by the damage that you have. I'd love to see a ship design that's capable of even running at 50% structural HP, let alone jumping. By the way, there's always at least one ship that you can escape to when yours gets shot down - the one your enemy is piloting...

      Right now, turrets have this really annoying problem where if they're mounting Cannons or Beams, they'll eventually cleave clean through a ship and stop doing real damage. Kinda hard for your turrets to kill something if they're shooting through a hole that goes clean through to empty space...

      Advanced armor might weigh a lot, but it pretty much makes most weapons worthless until they can get through a ship's armor HP. Seriously, try the dev build out. It's scary how good it is, even with the mass rebalancing. You can now actually make big, slow, tanky ships that outright refuse to die.

      Not just mass. Decorative blocks and such increase your ship's HP pool, too, AFAIK.

      I might find this agreeable as a *very* temporary solution. Again, we'd need surface area and mass consideration for the shape of collision damage. At least that way we could start up on rewarding players for making improvised weapons.
