You are exaggerating, but yeah, as I said before, new power is fucked.

A good gun is primarily ion based and has makes up at least (probably) 10% of your ship by mass, its that simple, really.

Effective shield tanks use a lot more regen blocks than capacity blocks because they increase survivability a lot more. Weakening regen generally weakens shields. It also compensates for players who can't make a decent gun, which is not a good idea, because they will still suck a lot, but they...

Is not balanced cause Schine has no idea what they are doing. No regen under fire is fine, as long as moving out of fire actually gives you better regen. I still prefer current release shields, as a single 5k shouldnt be able to touch the shields of a 500k.

Thats actually quite a lot considering what new power is like. Needs to be like 1/10 or less of that. Considering that a 100k might have 1 mil recharge on it, it would be pretty ridiculous for that to take 1 mil power to run.

How is shield recharger power consumption currently?

Current system is good enough for me. You should, we all should, and Schine should be responsible enough to deliver it, but they aren't, because they don't listen very well.

Three possibilities: 1.Missiles target reactors, in which case reactors get obliterated super fast and reactor hp is a shit system. 2.Missiles don't target reactors but AI turrets and such do, in which case beams annihilate them almost as fast as missiles would, but missiles become super weak...

Reactor health is a bad idea too, ships already die too easily, requiring me to kill even less blocks just makes the problem worse.

I assure you its 100% viable given how the power system endorses alpha. If you want an explanation, go to one of the half-a-dozen threads I've explained it in.

      Prerelease v0.200.250

I dont want that to be a valid strategy, because then it becomes the only strategy, if you can win without risking your ship (via cloaked and jammed alpha bursts) there is no reason to ever engage in any other manner, especially if you can jump out if things go wrong.

      Prerelease v0.200.250

So? The primary use of jamming right now is for not being detected out of combat, because as soon as someone gets hit they pop their scanner and they can see the enemy anyway.

The more stealth chamber s a ship has the harder it should be to detect. The heavier a ship is the easier it is to detect. Got it now?
    14. N

      Prerelease v0.200.250

I never said thats what I wanted, nor did I imply it. My exact terminology: Stealth capability should be proportional to stealth chambers one has, but inversely proportional to mass.

If they respond to advice for the weapons update in the same way that they did for this one, it won't, beyond that I don't want to get into a discussion about weapons right here. Even that I have a problem with, but its at least better. Another part of why I dislike it is that chambers are...

Thats a stupid thing to have to do that only increases entity count and therefore lag.

I realize it might not be quite as good as what you are used to, but here is my best so far:

      Prerelease v0.200.250

I should qualify this and say that jumping out of combat already happens a lot, I think inhibitors stop when power tank hits zero, but priority stuff could stop that. My opinion is that if you go into a combat zone, jumping out is not something you should expect to be able to do.

      Prerelease v0.200.250

Good reasoning, not a good excuse, its not a problem of winning or losing, its a problem of fun from my side. If the enemy always jumps out as soon as I drop their shields, then I'm not going to be having fun.

      Prerelease v0.200.250

Being able to stay jammed in a fight can prevent enemies from using select fire turrets and decreases over all ai accuracy, requiring me to use half my reactor capacity to make sure that doesn't happen (as opposed to placing an appropriate amount of scanners, for me usually about a 5k mass)...
