To a degree, yes. But no more than any other home base with large craft docked. The collision check areas (bounding boxes) of ships and stations tend to increase draw on server resources when large objects or craft with a LOT of cores get really close to each other. Once docked, or...
Hmmm... I hadn't anticipated this change. ...or did I?
I guess I'll just add that to my list of reasons why most of my station/MCS designs have giant enclosed docking bays.
Edit: Now that I think about it, I've been doing this for a REALLY long time...
Coincidence...
How do I feel about StarMade?
To be honest, I'm very concerned for the future of the game but still cautiously optimistic.
Originally, I saw StarMade as one of the most revolutionary games I had ever seen. I saw it as having the potential to be every game I ever wanted; all rolled into one...
On your command ship/main carrier: You can setup a logic button for each fighter to make it launch. Mine typically consist of an Inner-ship remote that connects to an activation module. That activation module changes the rails to launch the fighter then changes the rails from...
Regarding the original post; I think we were supposedly baby steps away from what he's asking for. The problem was that explosive effect slaved to a cannon or beam only spread out in a 1m radius. If Schine fixes (if they haven't already) the radius for explosive beams and cannons, then you...
Yeah... You'd think the smaller turrets (upper right) would be able to one-shot a small fighter but nope...
A little fighter like this can actually tank the missiles! Don't even bother firing a machine gun at it or you be shooting for 5-10 minutes per fighter.
Rather than let the...
Did someone call for a world builder?
I find that templates are an easy way to save portions of a base. Most of my planetary bases are built from templates. Those that aren't are saved in pieces as templates for later use.
- You can actually launch different fighter groups (on different ships) using wireless logic. I was experimenting with this before the power rework was announced. With or without logic, the fleet command "carrier recall" is the only way to automatically reclaim fighters on any ship...
Yeah. It's the wireless.
It's best if OP learns to use the wireless block. You can pull off all kinds of cool stuff with it including what's in the original suggestion.
She's a beauty. It bears some resemblance to a Nebulon-B frigate (Star Wars) with heavy traces of Caldari (Eve Online) styling. I especially like the scaffolding work over the central thruster stem. The extra paneling over the main armor is a nice touch. I think it would look even better...
What brought me here:
Back in 2011-2012 I had quit Evil Online as I had lost all interest in playing a game that is so much harder and grindy-er than real life that it feels more like a chore (I would literally fall asleep during battle) than a pleasure to play. Afterwards, I was...
I'm a little skeptical of this idea but I kinda like it. If done right, this could very well be the balance we've been looking for.
Target their weapons systems Mr. Worf.
If implemented poorly... Well... May whatever Cat God you believe in... heh... Have mercy on your soul...
StarmAde? o_O Don't you mean SmarmAde?
The spelling isn't important Markus_McCloud
All you need to do is remember that this is a totally original game and everything will be fine. While SmarmAde is inspired by other voxel-based games such as Minecrack, Mine$haft, Micro$haft and Mine$oft...
In a way, I guess it's both. I imitated a brush by using the copy and paste feature then trimmed it with a light Salvager. I had to use foliage since you can't rotate grassy rock.
Ever since April Fools day, Schine has been teasing us with a single gif of their new and improved planets, while rejecting every planet shape suggestion in the forum. Being the impatient maniac that I am, I've decided that I'm not going to wait for them. I want a low-lag planet right now...
