I think it's really exciting when you see devs interacting with players. someone once said that the biggest part of a game is the player and I love it when there is community/dev interaction
I'm new to the game, so I have no idea what I would even do with rails. except for maybe rotating decorations. more interested in being able to change the speed of the \ key xD oh oh and maybe jetpacks. and cookies. and a way to charge for warp gate use. and loot clouds for player ships.
well my attempts to make a tractor beam accidently hit a trade guild ship and I got blown up.
so instead I went and made a realy, no nonesense turret. right now its cannon and missiles but I heard that doing damage beam and missiles is better because it makes the missiles auto hit or somesuch...
oh that works pretty well too. maybe in future tho they will let us change the \ speed.
I bound the free camera to my capslock, it works really well :D
I have this same problem. and it was a real pain to get all the materials
edit: my server's admin claims I'm too close to the building boundary box of my station, but if that's the case I haven't been able to fly far enough away yet.
I really love using \ to spin around my builds. Only it is way too fast. I have assumed there was some setting to change it to be slower , or something to click, but I haven't been able to find it. I was wondering if anyone knew how to slow it down, or another way to get a good view of your build.
I've seen some turrents/ships with the derelict stations. would it be possible to make a fake, attacked ship as the pirate spawning station itself or would that not fool anyone? I think it would be cool to have derelicts, or debris fields, spawn at random like asteroids do. battlefields or...
this looks like a fun challenge! that middle one looks pretty easy, minus the chairs. They need to make a chair block xD or some sort of really thin slab block. with that we could make shelves, tables, chairs etc. each slab could be one face of the block that you rotate thru like other block...
I'm pretty sure that's what they did on the server I play. There are pirates, but there also seems to be separate ai ships with different designs that are hostile to everyone.
that explains it then xD wish I could just drop a block on it and have a tractor beam lock onto it.
If I can just get one asteroid near my base I can faction module it, then build off of it and make it bigger. like one giant asteroid with some small ones floating near it, all the same asteroid...
I always seem to get lost. I managed to loose a whole planet. I just left for a moment to try out my new ship, all my loot safely hidden in my planet base. And somehow hit the jump drive without a waypoint set so i ended up in the middle of nowhere. Gosh, if I had a dime for every time I hit my...
is fullscreen better? I've always played it on windowed so I can check the wiki xD
I wish I could tune the waypoints and navigation arrows more, have some very clear indications of which arrow is brightest for the closest asteroid and whatnot. or even change the color for each class of item...
And that is why I'm here! I'm used to building in minecraft. Dragons, temples, cities, planets what have you. But starmade is such a larger, more flexable place to build. What with all the slanted blocks and ships actually moving. I don't think it will take long for minecraft shipwrights to...
"So, with stations, if there's a faction module with a signature on there; can other factions BUILD on it? "
certainly not, if all your faction module and build blocks are unreachable, like behind doors. They MIGHT be able to get into your build blocks, and edit that way the same as ship cores...
Since warp gates are placed on stations, and your home base is unbreakable you could just make the warp gate on your home station. I would recommend creating some sort of giant hangar. with doors. that way only your faction members can get their ships inside. You could do the same on the other...
