Gigantism - Why build better when you can build bigger

I can agree with that. Though their turning radius is pitiful. That's precisely why I have been so into RPPVP though, because the idea of making the whole ship out of weapon systems gets thrown right out of the door. Min/Maxing has always been super lame, from DnD, to Starmade. But I can't...

Oh my god, yes. Interdiction spheres.

Gigantism - Why build better when you can build bigger

Aren't there ways to stop people from running, now? Power draining and all that fun? Surely in open space we can find a way to make it viable. I enjoy huge ships. I also only enjoy RPPVP, which is the tiniest niche I can think of. I love sitting on my bridge watching my turrets and drones...

Gigantism - Why build better when you can build bigger

I, personally, haven't run into these carriers that have large quantities of drones, so I trust in your greater judgement. If it works that well, then I see no reason to remodel the system. That is how small vs large combat is supposed to work.

Gigantism - Why build better when you can build bigger

I wonder if a flanking penalty could solve this problem. If we think of a shield system like a blanket that self repairs by pulling from higher concentration zones of energy to plug holes until it's 100% recharge rate can be applied, then finding a way to implement a flank penalty would increase...

      Rails and multiple entities

So, I am a COMPLETE noob in the logic and rail system game, I will admit. I wasn't entirely sure how to search for this particular question, so I'll just make it here. I used an entity to make an elevator that would move up and down because I'm not quite sure how to use a rail docker without...

      Canon Quandry

Fair enough. It seems to lack some of the industrial flare the Sith are known for, but it is significantly easier to build. I suppose it's always about give and take, lol. Thanks for the information!

I haven't been able to find out for myself which style of engine the Harrower-Class Dreadnaught uses in Star Wars Online. I have seen the one with the two large, triangle shaped engines and the one that more closely resembles the ImpII, both from in game footage. I am getting to the point where...

What type of ships are you more drawn too?

I agree with Colt. RP ships are the measure of someone's creative style. The even imply that there is a single correct way of building in a sandbox game is an incredibly archaic mindset. It's detrimental. Some of us enjoy the feeling of walking through the halls of our vessels. It is a very real...

What type of ships are you more drawn too?

No, but I have seen that one around. Let me look for it. The ship that the Heldtech Damocles is modeled after. I see that ship everywhere, lol.

What type of ships are you more drawn too?

I love themed ships. I understand the appeal of having that one ship, though. The best franchises in our society did that. Millenium Falcon, Serenity, That giant Japanese anime ship that is fucking everywhere (the one that looks like a boat with two giant rockets attached to either side). On...

      Looking for some builders

I have a build I am working on, strictly for Rp purposes. Not for practical or PvP purposes. It is (By my best estimates, as most of the sizes on Wookiepedia are wrong) a 1:1 Harrower Battlecruiser build. It is a hard build for one person. Or rather, time consuming. It's about 2.2Km Z, 1.3km X...

Rendering issue/ Large ship crashing game

Windows 7, Gigabyte GTX 260, I allocated 6 in the launcher I figured out, however that if you don't allocate it in Java also, it's not used, which I ended up doing and it stopped crashing my game. So hurray!

Rendering issue/ Large ship crashing game

I had tried upping memory. At this point it is using 6 gigs and only half is every used in the game. I'm not sure what other information you would need, but I would be happy to provide it.

Rendering issue/ Large ship crashing game

I can run all of my other games in high settings no problem. This is the only game giving me an issue. I've no need to update my PC yet.

Rendering issue/ Large ship crashing game

So I have been working on a Harrower, 1:1 scale, and my ship just passed a million mass. Now when I try to enter the game and build on it, after the ship renders, the game crashes. Is anyone else having this issue for large ships?

Bug So, just thought I would throw it out there, update slows bigger builds

I also noticed a CONSIDERABLE difference in debug backup file size. Like, the standard was 65kb, and now it's like 15848kb. Five digits.
