      Sleek armed perma-cloaker

The final output won't flash,or the two flip-flops either. Regarding the slower then expected reload; make sure both of the flip-flops are off (orange). If they are on they will send a one-tick 'off' pulse so we want them off to get short 'on' pulses.

Why don't we use Gaussian distribution for weapon dispersion.

Well my figures are a bit different; with the distances we are dealing with if we take 'sub-millimeter' as roughly 0.0001m at 1m then that translates to 0.5m at 5000m. All of this is pretty moot anyways due to overall generally horrible accuracy of shooting at moving ships in a multi-player...

Why don't we use Gaussian distribution for weapon dispersion.

Gun imperfections perhaps, but at our current technology of linear acceleration, even for such mundane tasks as healthcare, accuracy is already sub-millimeter.

Why don't we use Gaussian distribution for weapon dispersion.

Hmm, can you think of a technical, realistic reason why magnetically accelerated anti-matter would randomly diverge a detectable amount from it's course in a vacuum?

Why don't we use Gaussian distribution for weapon dispersion.

Your thesis is flawed; 1. the purpose of aim is predicting where your shots will go 2. it is not easier to aim a less accurate weapon, you are confusing easier with lowered expectations

      Sleek armed perma-cloaker

The cannon module has a fast rotator clock http://starmadedock.net/threads/trying-to-make-this-basic-clock-faster-for-a-push-effect.8662/#post-128208 on it which is turned on and off wirelessly; 45 degree step, max-speed rotator, two activation blocks touching and linked to the rotator are...

Scoundrel; stealth pirate-farming tool 990 000 e/sec, 660 000 power, 1.5 thrust-to-mass armed perma-cloaker/ jammer. Hauls and cloaks two AMS turrets, a little fold-wing shuttle with about 30 seconds of cloak and one of two weapon modules. The cannon or missile module is docked in the...

      Gundam Shipyard

These two builds I did in the old docking system as well; please forgive the colour scheme. I've also just stumbled across some 24 Gundam ship .skp models.

Read by Council Enable Use of the Rail Speed Controller on the Rail Turret Axis?

How about; the turret dock is surrounded by 4 (each side) or 8 (sides and corners) activation blocks. The turret may move in only the quadrants/octants for which the corresponding activation block is present and active. Perhaps also allow them to move from an 'off' partition to a nearby 'on' one...

      Torpedo Bombers

"Just make it bigger," I foresee titans on your server that fire moon-sized torpedoes which can one-shot other titans. If you can make a titan you can afford a few warheads. The bomber-sized torpedoes, even with the amped-up warheads seem to be easily countered by good old spaced armor. Of...

Can the bug where ai can lock on to radar jammed entities please be fixed?

Why not simply try a return to the old cloak and jam power values from before it was changed? Jamming was changed to draw way less e/sec per block and I think cloak's power needs were increased by the same amount. Let's see, now why was that done? Oh yeah, jamming was made way easier to power so...

Trying to make this basic clock faster for a push effect

The two circuits are quite different actually. Your link uses a one-time activation of step-timed rotators to initialize multiple delay clocks on offset ticks that can synchronize over time due to lag but can produce high frequencies. The above circuit produced 8 pulses per 2 second revolution...

Agreed, power supply should limit concurrently active ship devices and it currently does just that in the game engine. That's not what we do here for cloaking though, a perma-cloak ship with enormous power capacity reserves and excess generation will be forced out of cloak for firing a...

Cooldown schmooldown, there is logically no reason you need to uncloak to fire. /facepalm (key skills here; interpretation, reading between the lines)

      Rotator question

Not exactly, while full-speed 45 degree button auto-rotation will not work a pair of activation modules each connected to the rotator and cross-connected through NOT gates to each other will. When one activation module turns on and pulses the rotator it also switches off the other activation...

      Rotator question

I came to a disappointing conclusion when I tried my hand at this. While I was able to develop an auto-rotator clock that output 8 discreet pulses per rotation I found that wireless logic lag garbled the signal timing getting to the cannon computers in the barrels. Since the logic is compact the...

Trying to make this basic clock faster for a push effect

Take Olxinos' simple rotator clock from the smallest fastest clocks thread, have each activation block output through one of Olxinos' pulse shorteners from his instant pulses thread to prevent signal overlap, then finally merge the output from the pulse shorteners into an activation block. Half...
