      Asteroid respawn...

is this SP or MP? if its MP, did you restart the server? Also when reading the release notes, it said that the sector had to be empty. I assume that means no blocks, players, or any kind of entities. Not just "no asteroids" I could be incorrect in my interpretation though.

What's the point of factions being shown on your GUI?

using fog of war also opens the possibility to broker deals using map information. Faction A wants the location of Faction B so they can plan an attack. Faction C has that info and is willing to share it for a price. AND then you could also end up with.... Faction C is secretly allied...

      Janky Turrets

I am aware of the computer face direction. That was the first thing I checked on said drones. Though this only happened once, and never occurred again. The same drone rack was deployed on multiple other occasions and the drones never derped like that again. I am assuming it was ether a bug...

The Difference between AI's and NPC's

I think a small part of what you are trying to get at was discussed here: http://starmadedock.net/threads/my-two-cents-on-turret-ai.5599/ Although it more pertains to turrets, I think it could expand to other ship/station/fleet aspects as well. 1) This is sorta addressed in the link I gave...

      Janky Turrets

hum... Ive seen this bug when I tested some drones on a station once (a version or two back). The drones kept shooting out of their sides and not facing the target. No idea why it happened that way, only that it did.

What's the point of factions being shown on your GUI?

I somewhat agree with you. Instead of making it so you don't really see them unless your right near them, I would use this method. You start without any faction info on your map. IF you find a faction's claimed system, then that system will show as that faction. If that faction un-claims it...

Recognized Exploration/System Bonuses and Actual Empire Building

Love most of the ideas the OP posted. REALLY interested in finding out what Bench has to say next week ! I have my own thoughts on how it might be implemented, but if we actually get a form of empire building (which would make fleet control even more important) I would be ecstatic. Then I can...

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

I've been thinking about using some EDU's myself. Have a base concept that would allow 1 (maybe need 2) turrets to actavate a launch. Was planning on using MADER's (Mobile Automated Drone Engagement Racks) along with MTP's (Mobile Turret Platforms) for a bit of area denial. They would come in...

      Greifing or Legitimate Strategy?

Edymnion, I think (could be wrong) that Bodhitron was talking about a diffrence in skill when it comes to building. Taking torpedo's as an example. With default settings, you can still design torpedo's that will do some damage. Not tons but some. Now if you custom build some MIRV torpedo's...

      Greifing or Legitimate Strategy?

Well Fireshock, I agree with point 1 and 2. However, I do believe that you can add "Optional" structuring to combat and PvP. An example could be when quests are a thing, and you have NPC factions. Imagine the ability to "ally" your faction to an NPC faction. Givving you some benefits, but...

      Server Rules and Information Tab

I like the idea of the info being in the launcher (or future server browser). As for the argument of websites/forums, not everyone will find your website before joining your server. There are also players that are too lazy or just don't like the hassle of leaving the game to look up some rules...

      Server Rules and Information Tab

Ever joined a starmade server where they have their own rules about mass/turrets/docked entities? What about servers with heavy RP rules for fighting? Maybe a rule about where you can and cannot PvP? Ever wish you had an easy place to lookup that info? Me too. I propose that an extra tab in...

      Greifing or Legitimate Strategy?

The best identifier of griefing I can think of is the following: If a person is taking an action, in order to aggravate a person, with no other purpose, then it is griefing. If a person is taking an action with clear motivation (examples latter) that cause agravation it is NOT griefing. Also the...

      Shipyard Turret Issues

Its not just turrets ether Mycoloth. A few people (if I am remembering right) tried to replace drones on their carriers by using the shipyard. They ended up with drones that were part of the ship. Not separate entities docked to the carrier, but actually just blocks ON the carrier. Hope the...

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

I highly recommend using damage beams, with a cannon slave with push effect. That seems to give me the best results on most of my launching systems. I have had varying results using other methods, while the damage beam/cannon/push effect seems very consistent. As long as you have it hitting...

Brainstorm This My Two Cents on Turret AI

OK, I decided to think through how I would like AI Turrets to work. (Read that as wall of text) First, There should be a simple starting point. The Bobby AI should handle this, as its likely what players will use starting out. The settings in the Bobby should include two things imo. First...

cyberus111, that would be a good addition. It would be almost required for any kind of effective asteroid mining turret !

      Starmade Server Clustering

Ah, that makes it more clear.

      Starmade Server Clustering

very interesting idea there. How do you expect this to handle servers (what would be a galaxy in this setup) which have modded configs? or server rules that the admins there enforce? Or are you thinking that it should be base game only and only have "official clusters" instead of "community...
