The Rock, Paper, Scissors thing with Cannon, Beam, Missile VS Armor, Shields, Systems; works fine until you start adding new weapons with no relation to the others such as Mines, Pulse, Flamethrower, Electrical Arcs, Hacking, etc.
The only way to get faction points by default is to at least hop online for a few minutes every couple of days. That said I was messing with a Rule Set in single player to change that. :)
Honestly the Replicators from Stargate SG1 would be a pain to deal with but rather funny.
Replicator Info:
Eats blocks and other materials to either make more of itself or carry off to a Queen/factory.
Tends to Replicate Exponentially if ignored
Infests any ships, stations, and planets to...
Yes you lose faction points if you aren't at least semi active. Any player that was active within the last few days generates FP. Systems and normal lose conditions lose you FP. If your FP goes negative you lose systems and homebase protection. :)
Honestly armor needs to be split into two block types. Hull and Armor. Hull: Looks pretty and is good for showing off and super light. Take it into battle and you'll die horribly unless running away. Armor: Ugly as sin but lets you live through weapons fire unlike Hull and is super heavy. You...
Honestly what I'd like to see done with thrusters is make the facing direction of a group of them affect thrust in that direction more. So thrusters facing out the back of a ship affect forward movement more while forward facing ones affect the opposite directing more, and so on.
OK keeping track of this. Does this also work in Single player as well? Just asking because it'd be nice to get a few ships and stations up to speed without being on a server. :)
Honestly the Heatsink-radiation shielding idea that was floating around before is the only thing I can think of that could replace this type of reactor we currently have. Also adding other types of power sources would be a good idea to open up different play styles. Maybe chambers used...
Generally my rule of thump is build the systems first, than build the shell I want, than cram the systems into that space whether they want to fit or not. :)
hmm this sounds interesting. Why not also allow for the connection the other direction as well linking a display to a camera(s) to display text on the screen when viewing through the camera(s) in question. Also connecting 1 camera to a collection of displays could spread the image of the...
Honestly I usually get outdone by several faction members and so far was learning (AKA Stealing small bits) from them. XD Forgot to add a factory section but with the shop right next to the shipyard computer I don't think it needs one. The funny thing is I managed to cram a shipyard into that...
With water cooling you could turn a whole ship into a huge radiator to radiate heat from the ship's reactor, same thing with stations. Get hot enough and you start irradiating your ship/station and crew if any and the surrounding area. :)
