It seems like a server reset is necessary. You can export sectors with your stations in them though then just import them again so maybe it's not a total loss.
I have a work around for this, I use wireless logic. On cannon turrets I give Bobby control of one output cannon/cannon/stop in the dead center then put my actual cannons around that and link them with wireless logic to the main ship that lets me do "bursts" on my own at my selected target but...

This sounds vastly more complicated and much less customizable on the fly. Currently all of my cannons have at least 2 if not 3 things I can swap between for stop, pull, and overdrive depending on what I need right that second. Being stuck with one manufactured would take up way more hotbar...
The first suggestion can already be done with a not block attached to the activation module on top of the sensor.
Second can be done with an and block and 2 sensors.
