What my thought is, wouldn't a 1000 damage impact do more damage with punch through than piercing? Im assuming the HP system means that you want to destroy lots of blocks(Punch), not lightly damage a large amount of blocks(Pierce).
When the HP system comes out. Won't it make piercing worthless? (In comparison to punch through)
Also Beam : Pulse is doing something like 2500 Damage per 1 energy at the moment (Or close to). Pretty sure this might be a bug

Beams behavior seems really buggy. on a 1:1 Beam : Pulse array. You can tap the fire button, or hold it down and watch your energy (literally) tank while obliterating anything in front of you.
One shot with the 40 blocks the burst took about 1 second, it did closer to about 80-95K damage in one second.

the 30 mass can punch through about 3 million shields
20 Beams, with 20 Beam Slaves in 2 banks (40 block total, two 20s) can tear through 100K of shields.
Damage is burst with slow cool down. or aprox 2500 damage per block in the setup. with a ~35 second cool down so the DPS is about... 2855/s

I've actually had a lot of fun with AMC : Beam : 100% Punch Through paired with AMC : AMC : 50% EMP

Has anyone else had problems with 50 beams, 50 AMC, 50 Ion? On my freshly restarted (deleted old starmade folder and redownloaded the complete new 1.52) world the laser is doing 0 damage to shields and 100 damage a tick vs asteroids/blocks.

The biggest issue I've always thought would be... What do the AI controlled fighters target? "Your Target[YT]" or "Any Target[AT]"? With [YT] AI params, it makes them kinda, redundant [Like Turrets basically]? Or if you select [AT] then, I'd assume the basic AI controlled fighter would Target...
Ship based all the way. While planet based would be awesome. It seems reasonably cheesy. Especially on say, a faction planet with enough power to jump you practically anywhere (because a faction base is immune to damage, just make giant stupid power arrays.
Understandably, but like I said it was a rough concept. AI improvements could(may?) be added to prioritize blocks, or allow the AI to know "about" where the core is. Blast away then prioritize the core. Giving bobby AI a general idea of where the core is would prevent the over abuse of using AI...
