Big salvagers are only required for planet-eating. For not having to lag all the time, I prefer to keep two different ones - One for asteroids, with a smaller array that does not cause harm to my PC, and other for planets when I'm desperate for shields.... so at least I'll not suffer all the time.
Credits aren't really valuable those days. Unless if the server you play in has a good amount of players that do trade.
Team up with other newbies inside the server you play and go mining and manufacturing with factories. Invest everything on a decent ship then go pirate-hunting... the basics...
If only they fixed the ultra-rare asteroids.... I use blue as a detailing color...
And it's ridiculous the process for creating brown paint. Thank god I dislike this color... hehehe
Don't worry. Gigantism is dieing very slowly, yet it will still die. I'll give it around 5 months. We can't see the effects today because the most powerful players spawned every single titan available with credits moments before the bp update release.
And I can't buy the idea of drone swarms...
Despite all the down points on the game mechanics that could happen, we should have a reason to use hardened/advanced hulls, since today they are way more harder to get thanks to the new BP system.
A ship with hardened hulls today is no better then a shield with basic hulls. Either make them...
This is from an old solution of mine regarding Stealth better-looking vessels
Reducing the mass from basic hulls and making hardened/advanced hulls heavier looks fine to me. Keep them light-armored, but with better looking and without punishing decoration and smoothness so much (regarding...
Titans are currently invincible. One does only kill with it with a bigger titan - teaming up two smaller cruisers won't work. If a drone swarm really took out a 6k mass vessel, I assume this one lacked AA turrets, even more on EE, where the turret accuracy is better then Vanilla.
Not sure how...
I don't know... Sandboxes for me are only fun in multiplayer... I only do use SP for big-ship-building, so nobody will bother me when I'm patiently placing wedges, tetras, decoration, that kind of stuff.
Point is, if the game had used C++ instead of Java, it would be superior in terms of performace, but it's impossible for schema doing that alone. One day, when he creates his own medium-sized studio with lots of developers, who knows ?
Honestly, I think this is terrible.
1) While we all know that Starmade itself is capable of creating a bazillion of galaxies, this is totally unhealthy for the servers. Most of them can't even manage to hold one galaxy + 30 players without periodically skyrocketing the ping, imagine 30...
I agree with most of the points you brought here, keptick but also...
They don't, afaik.
Unless if the server taken in consideration has some custom script.
Your whole idea of the harverster blocks sounds good on theory, but it will make the life of casual players even more impossible...
One problem that I'm sure most of the people are facing is that how easy it is to find out about a warp gate network. You could simply check on galaxy map and go to the links, making your enemies' life more difficult at a very cheap price, should you be at war or simply being a griefer.
IMO...
