Well, personally, I don't mind the white at all. :) But as you say, a bit more blue for faction determination is not a bad idea. Might help to lessen the white overload ;)

No, you post a pic with a planet, you have to assume it and build the planet too :P

Blue Yellow could help give a better visual cue for the Trading Guild. Economy colors Red and Brown for rusty pirates :P Old station anything.

I'm really eager to see the abandonned stations people will come up with. How people will be able to make them feel old, derelict but still intimidating. Something like an extinct alien race station, or an old mining outpost, even a military outpost from an old war with it's turrets still active :P
