North American Sandbox Servers - NASS Main (Artificial Vanilla Config)

I could not agree more. With bug fixes there may need to be a retinker from time to time but I can see this benefiting servers beyond NASS. Possibly affecting the entire SM population's online experience. That is a goal worth chasing. We could simply disable rotation. I did this on my private...

North American Sandbox Servers - NASS Main (Artificial Vanilla Config)

OK we're actually talking NUMBERS now. This I like. This I can chew on like a Pomeranian that found daddy's beef jerky stash. This info is MUCH welcome. We're no longer trying to argue why I'm a moron for not wanting a sector size change and actually processing some logical reasoning. YES. Let's...

North American Sandbox Servers - NASS Main (Artificial Vanilla Config)

What someone SAYS is all fine and good. No matter their reputation it does not put their statement above peer review. Instead of quotes.. How about something slightly more graph-able? Empirical? Some actual collected data proving it isn't an utter waste of time discussing this still? The lack...

North American Sandbox Servers - NASS Main (Artificial Vanilla Config)

I've explained it in previous posts. There are several reasons to leave the sectors be. I'm confident you can use the search tool to find the right posts. And of all those claims as an admin for nearly 3 years I've only seen anecdotal and bug report evidence of overlapping stations. An issue...

North American Sandbox Servers - NASS Main (Artificial Vanilla Config)

The server's past is just that. Past. Let's look towards the future. More suggestions. Keep em comin' even if I shoot em down. And yes rimmer. sector size is staying right where it is. Default.

North American Sandbox Servers - NASS Main (Artificial Vanilla Config)

Most people stay on NASS for more than a few moments. And I have had conversations with several folks bringing up questions and issues about the server and the game. I like working with new users. (In fact the logs may even go back that far.) There really are few complaints these days. Though If...

North American Sandbox Servers - NASS Main (Artificial Vanilla Config)

You've removed most of the context of my statement. It should read: Someone might misread my quote and believe that it is an admission of NASS having been a ghost server for three years. See like so: And I could sit there, smile on my face and respond: WHY YES IT HAS. Thank you for noticing...

North American Sandbox Servers - NASS Main (Artificial Vanilla Config)

The servers sector are not going to be increased. And YOU are the only person I have ever heard of in three years to have issues with sector size and combat. So it's not the sector size. Certainly the server has been laggy and I've been pretty diligent about cracking down on lag creators. That...

North American Sandbox Servers - NASS Main (Artificial Vanilla Config)

oh sassy. much salt. very tasty. wow. if you are smacking into things and lagging the server you need to grow some real (video game) piloting skills and use a smaller vessel. just because you got beat fairly and you can't fathom yourself being the issue doesn't mean you need to find excuses for...

We're near maxed. And that sort of tweak I -can- make but is really el jefe's domain.

Still not doing it. You faction types go nuts. The NASS spawn warp gate is just for decoration for now. Maybe later. But not now.

Also useful would be a server Admin whitelist request confirmation queue for the mail system. For every person that uses the SM client to attempt to connect to a WL server it prompts for a WL request that includes space for a personal note as to why they wish to join. This goes from the user to...

North American Sandbox Servers - NASS Main (Artificial Vanilla Config)

Ok most definitely not more than one station per sector. The other servers have suffered enabling nearly everything requested. One sector. One Station. That's it. Our sectors are default size. Other stations are already super close. No call for more than one per sector. Warp gates are really a...

North American Sandbox Servers - NASS Main (Artificial Vanilla Config)

That's really creative. No joke I love the idea. I just don't see a need for it. I've watched players assaulting pirate bases doing... dismally. With the mine multiplier as low as it is the losses they suffer are already bad enough. Truly the loot from a base is really the scrap from the...

As the list is now it doesn't seem to indicate if a server requires authentication. I'd like to see that added. Also adding a prompt (when attempting to connect) allowing the user to authenticate then and there would be very convenient.
