this has been suggested before. I think a majority of people want more power sources than one but the current power system would have to change.

There was plans to add hyperdrive which would allow ships to travel far distance, use station only items but rendered thrusters useless. I don't know if it's still planned.

This is a popular suggestions, it would be easy to add in but there are reason why Jump drives are not effected by logic. I'm going to summon up all the reasons and put them into two letters/two words: OP/over powered If there was some way to counteract jump drive charging up then maybe.
