It would just build from the bottom up by layer, I guess... And decorative spikes are fine as long as they don't cause the ship to exceed the mass limit or clip into any decorative bits on the station or anything, otherwise the ship will stop bulding unless the blockage is removed or more...

...The building-dock uses enhancers, like our current docking (and turret docking) but based on mass, rather than boxdims, if that answers your question.

I don't mean closed system like that... What I mean is, energy appears out of nowhere, for free, so the economy doesn't remain a closed system... Free stuff constantly (even if a bit slowly) materializes, so you don't have to ever buy anything, which eventually results in a chain reaction...

Yes, that is if turrets could shoot through PlexDoors... which they don't, thankfully. That would be really OP because enemies can't shoot through your plexdoors, so you'd get an effectively invincible, extremely accurate weapon... :|

Pretty much. If you aren't worried about looks, mounting uberturrets is already really easy, though, so that's not even a concern IMO... (Also, Turret Docking Modules would be replaced with Turret Docking Hinge Clamps or Turret Aiming Motors)

They would, but for now the 3-wedge-seats we build now will serve just fine as crew seats, and you can add an extra block for the backrest on the captain's chair. Should make for a nice, universally-recognizable standard.
