If you know what you're doing, it's still pretty easy to get set up on a server quickly. Besides, it'd be a good idea to set up an outpost with a few destroyers and miners on most larger servers besides your home server in case you need to launch an assault against someone.
They're just an alien pitcher plant. No more, no less. And they are CERTAINLY not a kind of mushroom, despite what certain people would have you think.
It makes it impossible for people to really use it to ban dodge, though. All they can do is make threads and comments about their own faction or faction relations.
The problem with that is that it's rather hard to prove a faction account is being used as an alt when multiple people use it and the people who are banned and using it are using proxies or just changed their IP.
I'd like to see a video of this. I know it's quite easy to advance with shops, but I seriously doubt you can accomplish this with the base credits in singleplayer.

Perhaps, but I think with some optimization of how the game does collision detections it would be less of an issue. For example, how about objects that are both going slow having less frequent collision checks? If your station is, well, stationary, and your ship is moving...
Overlapping boxdims means constant collision checks, even when things are docked to eachother. It's a major source of when two large entities have overlapping boxdims.
