There is a difference between outplaying someone and doing something that is unfair and cannot be counted without severe, bullshit negatives. How would you propose someone counters a factionless warhead torpedo? Being hostile to neutral, causing you to blast any random stranger to bits with your...
Hey, want to know something neat? The game already allows you to trade off your shields for more firepower and vice versa.
So... how the game already works?
Hahahaha, NO. Games do not and should not be balanced primarily on real life unless you are attempting to make a realistic game. Real life is not always conductive to fun gameplay. Having your battleship get killed by a swarm of cloaker kamikazes is not fun or balanced.
Fighters should not be...
If the player is in a faction but the ship isn't faction tagged, the torps will loose their faction tag the moment they undock, making them untargetable unless you're hostile to neutral.
Alright. Here's some formatting changes. Months should include the year for easy searching for a specific month and year. Disputed events should be marked with (DISPUTED- [claim one] vs [claim two] vs [claim three]) etc etc. In the event of proof for one claim (ie, a recording of the Cake Lord's...
There should be OPTIONS for faction creators to have more complexity. It shouldn't be a hardcoded system like the one you're suggesting. What if your faction is just you and some buddies who want to make a faction and not worry about having "clans" and "corporations" and "kings"?
The issue with powerful warheads isn't so much that they're "griefer tools" but rather a tool someone could get with relative ease and put a nasty hole in someone's ship for very little work. This leads to the obvious question of "why would you ever fly a battleship when you can do the same...
You should be able to structure your faction like that if you want, but it shouldn't be forced onto other factions who don't want to be split up into clans and corporations ruled by a king.
Not true. Thryn and Helkan wanted to fight on Hypercore. Not as enemies, of course, but as rivals. Because being enemies in this community inevitably leads to shitflinging.
This wouldn't be a problem if shipyards functioned properly.
Everyone says this, but no one seems to be considering...
It's intentional. There's nothing to be fixed. Changing it would be breaking it. Can you even imagine how massively overpowered bypassing the shield regen combat limit is?
Evidence has certainly pointed towards Order|Chaos being a Ridik alt. It started activity at the same time Ridik was returning (EDIT- but not before he was unbanned), and it certainly acts like Ridik.
It would be nice to have a mod clear things up, though.
