In the latest dev builds, we finally have scanners that were suggested for a long long time. However, I think there's so much more potential in this block than just checking if there are any more ships in the sector system you're in. I suggest allowing players to link effects to scanners to...

That's a very neat solution to the problem. As I understand, the waypoints would be non-collidable blocks, like area triggers or open doors.
