Well the problem isn\'t that high speeds are too easy to achieve or anything, the only problem with higher speeds is as soon as you get past 50km/h the physics engine doesn\'t work as well. Crash into something at 200 and you\'ll probably eaiter simply go through it or get stuck inside...

Also stars are made from superheated gasses undergoing nuclear fission, there are no minerals to mine. Although I could perhaps see some sort of scoop or pipe that could be used to harvest the gasses for fuel, or something similar.
I like the idea of perhaps setting up repair turrets in hangars and space stations so you could dock your ship then just wander off and do something else, rather than have to spend hours repairing it, I usually just end up scavenging my ships and buying new ones from the blueprint.
I have a similar problem, the laser always comes out of a random block in the group rather than the last/first block linked up or anything logical like that.
