Warpgates are a glorified sector change command triggered when you pass though the gate to the destination gates sector. So no, it doesn't fail. Nothing happens.
I believe that rather than what people suggest. The theory is that NFD is part of debris and not the opposite, since debris can still speak for NFD despite not being a member. This also means that the NFD is technically a pottottoman.... but that'd be funny to have a faction with member rank 4.

even if you use a texture pack with 16x16 textures they'll be scretched to 32x32 which is a hardcoded minimum texture size, using 16x16 textures would just make starmade look worse with 0 benefit.
He's brainstorming for ideas/names and is asking for community support before actually forming the faction. He probably left out the server on purpose >.>
Starmade is a non-infinite universe, after (2^31)-1 sectors you just circle around. Although its blackhawk/black_hawk's fault for picking an extremely generic name :P
Having one faction module on a planet disables building for others factions, how would a second module be built? That's my only issue with this idea current mechanics make it impossible. How can it switch to per segment if you cannot place the second module?
Spies are probably the first reason, an account with no effort as being part of the community could be anyone. Two why help out someone who might just go inactive. It's not an uncommon policy and not exactly a bad one either.
