That makes sense. But I still don't see why shipyards have to make a design from a blueprint, and why they don't just use a blueprint.

Why do we have both blueprints and designs? As far as I am aware the blueprint item is only useful for making a design in the shipyard.

Slightly off topic, but when you save a blueprint on a server it doesn't save to your computer, you have to go through a second step to save it to your computer, or at least that's how it worked a while ago. I lost one ship to this (it will be missed), so watch out for that.
