I kinda like this idea but we'd need to account for weapons customization with regard to size.
How about this?
- Link a cargo storage system to the weapons computer to determine its magazine size. Refill your magazine when it runs dry.
- Manufacture separate, missile and cannon ammo types...
...no ammo, only high energy. Cannons require some energy, and some ammo. Missiles require no energy but lots of ammo.
Beats and pulses become economy weapons for larger, more long term ships. Cannons are a middle ground for stations and ships with a supply chain or in the small scale. Missiles...
Not so sure about food, but pay and crew, yessir.
I think it would be good to be able to "assume control" of your(or your faction's) NPCs rather than just spawning too.
As both a method of empire control, and a psudo fast-travel to anywhere you've sent explorer NPC.
What do you guys mean by quasi-RTS? If it can have RTS elements through fleet command and large fleets, it can also have economy elements through mining, manufacturing, and trading. And it will always have sandbox elements through the block based system. Building will be big because everyone...
...objective. Shitpost on A Distant Server and maybe kill some guys on the way because lol PvP.
Thus far, we have managed to obtain a stable economy and a small patrol fleet by the hard work of the kangaroo mining squad (basicly RedAlert and Calhoun mining with shamelessy stolen Magitek Miner...
Again, I'm not saying they don't exist. I'm saying that there are more disorganized, chaotic, messed up factions than there are highly disciplined and well run factions. And hence the existence of 1 man factions that totally avoids all of that.
Yes, if you have the people to help that you can...
...purchase for outfitting with combat systems. At the end of the day, somewhere in the circle of industry, there needs to be a sink in the economy, and that sink has and always will be war, because nothing is a more effective resource sink than war. Even the factions that don't directly...
...for you everything is about combat and war.
My point is that most of the end game goals listed are NOT about fighting.
Making a working economy is not about war. Setting up trade routes is not fighting. Expanding and managing an empire is not necessarily about fighting. Fighting is...
...a similar concept can be applied to solo factions, there is no need for every individual player to be a massive empire that has their own economy, resources and soveringty. Its not realisitc.
I do however think solo players should be viable, imagine this.
That is how I think solo players...
...As Lecic said, "solo players" should be a viable choice, however a single player controlling an empire, entire production infastructure, an economy, territory, population and have a diplomatic stake in in galaxy should not be possible.
Playing by yourself as a bounty hunter or pirate should...
Here are all the endgoal parts for easy reading :)
(DukeofRealms: I have yet to proofread this yet, so I may make some changes to improve readability.)
End Goals Introduction
Our “End Goals” document...is not a list of features. Although a simple feature list is useful to get an overview of...
...sectors similarly to the way NPC factions operate now, while real players could receive the orders as missions/quests.
In regards to the economy, you should check out this video. To summarize it: if the amount of in-game currency is not capped in some way (i.e. only so much available from...
...so much more amazing but who wants to be a shopkeeper every logged in moment? It would create instant easy to use and most importantly FUN economy and helps RP alot. People sell cars so why not spaceships? Players could create lottery systems with this: Pay to buy a "container" that has a...
...can get rich.
Some foundation for that is already in the game, but there is a lot of stuff missing:
Stick-shops need replacement to make economy work.
Ties in with a universe redesign to make resource distribution more diverse
Production needs more progression and be more complex...
I torched a TG faction block almost right after the new stations and economy were added. So if there's been any torch beam nerfs, I'm assuming they are new.
A little cranky this evening? Are you an autistic wanna be tough guy or is it just that time of the month again?
Also, yes; reality does suck. There is a lot of deplorable shit going on in the world these days; due in part to the greed, corruption and mindlessness of both today's generation...
...and nerf into the ground because RP4ever_McFuckface is upset he doesn't have to mine anymore.
Just die already you tremendous cunt. If you self-indulgent twits didn't fuck up the economy we would have better things to do than try to escape the shitty reality you left us with through a videogame.
