MOBs are simply Moving Object Blocks. Your character is a MOB. The cows, chickens, etc, of Minecraft are MOBS. Friendly, Neutral, or Hostile MOBs are made with the AI, a MOB is simply anything that is moving.

everything here is awesome. if it worked right, you could make shops that you can dock to to protect your ships. just imagine, a massive shop functioning as a meeting place for all of the factions of a server. nearly impervious to damage and a (usually) safe zone from pirates for them to have...

these are some good ideas. just put in a better map with them and we are golden.

i think this would do better on a station. a REALLY BIG station. a faction home base perhaps. hook up 2 or 3 of these babies and let the good times roll.

this happens to me if i put a build block on an asteroid. on asteroids i also can\'t use chests and faction blocks so it might be just the way asteroids work. not sure if you are having this problem on asteroids or elsewhere though. i know it works on stations and planets.

they need a new block, the sandwich AI. that should be all it does.

you could give it the huge amounts of HP and armor availble to a faction module. give it the one-per-ship limit like the faction module as well. so you would make a little center of ship core, faction module, and save-state block. maybe make some other blocks (3 more so you have a nice core...
