Well, these would make our ships/stations/planets feel more alive. They'd also justify systems like life support or boarding. It'd also be nice to put all suggestions related to npcs in this thread so that there aren't a hundred half baked threads about npcs's ( Fast travel has this problem)...
about a month or two ago things were a lot slower. Sure there were a few threads with dumb titles acompanied by various reposts. Now there are dozens of new threads with dumb titles and unimaginative ideas.
I see threads like 'my ideas for'; as if those ideas being yours make any difference...
This is only the four hundreth thread on new weapons and the only thing that\'s possibly a new idea is... Well, heat sinks could be used on a larger ship.. but you didn\'t even suggest that.

Why would that be an improvement? It\'s neither more realistic nor is it better a gameplay mechanic. It limits the creativeness of a player with his ship.
Simple suggestion realy, the player should be able to use computer cores to modify the apearance of their energy bolts,rockets and thruster exhaust flame. This would vastly help players individualise their ships. Plus it looks seriously cool. The weapons should all use their standard computers...
Players and stations should both have their own crews. These crew members have a variety of functions, though not all crew members should have all functions
- Repair blocks
- Manage systems
- Defeat intruders
- rest/patrol/guard
- do activities. to make the ship feel 'alive' (eat lunch)...
The guy is making the engine as he goes along, i think.
Invisible blocks is easy. Filling and emptying space might be a little harder, but certainly doable.
