Rail = Array Expander?

    I would like the ability to extend the efficiency of your reactors, giving more dimension-bonus by using rails.


    Why?
    Imagine a fighter which retracts wings and the nose to dock or fit through tiny gates,
    but expands wings+nose to gain perma-jamming ability or more fire-power.​

    This would give you another reason to not build borg cubes all the time :)

    That is a very nice idea, but one imo i think it would be difficult to make possible.
    The way i see it would be to add some sort of area detector to power modules that would dettect anouther one on each of its 6 sides, and take the grouping caclculation from there...

    im not sure about perm-jam or MORE firepower, but moving wings would allow weapons to be moved to wider/shallower angles, so dogfights would be more interesting. it might be possible as well to line up multiple arrays to increase impact to a specific area.

    it might be possible as well to line up multiple arrays to increase impact to a specific area.
    Isn't this possible even now? EDIT: With planed dev-build rails, when it's fixed.
    Perhaps you could use it to move computers next to each other to add/remove weapon effects and secondary computers by logic.

    EDIT part2: Now you can exchange master/slave systems.

    i'm not sure if its possible now, but i like the idea of connecting/disconnecting secondary computer/effects by logic. it would give a whole new dynamic to fleet battles. for example, on my ship i have an ion main weapon, but when the shields drop, swap it to piercing, and utterly annihilate. or change damage beams from long range to continuous fire to compensate for range drop
