    i rest my case here:)

    ======= Edit @ 08:20 (GMT+8) =======
Sorry for lack of information yesterday, I posted this thread on bus.
Hard to explain by plain word, so I did some quick sketchup just now

First, the current rail system, can only move via one single X,Y,Z plane

But with rail wedge, things can travel from one plane to other like below

And we can/should have 2 types of rail wedge to gain different moving animation

I think he means that currently you can only move objects on a rail in one plane, in other words, if the rail system is extending in X and Z dimentions, there's no way for the same rail system to move in Y direction.

[DOUBLEPOST=1428948640,1428948110][/DOUBLEPOST]here it is,newer dev build break this, and then fix it again, but this is how it should work

I think the author is thinking about rail wedges that will allow an object to be positioned like it's going down a hill 45 degrees form a horizontal plane.

    hope that clarifies something :P

is it? he clearly said x,y,z .
but 45 degrees rail would be amazing too hahahaa :D

I have no idea really what the author was actually trying to say but that's what I interpreted from it

Mostly from the "rail wedge" part in the title

ahh,you mean the outer 270 degrees corner?
you can do that ,and there is a simple trick for that, nothing hard :)

Perhaps you can do that, but not with 1 block. You need your brain!

Moving at 45 degrees would be ugly in the current system. I have to say that we need a rail wedge...

Just curious... what would a cubic object look like moving across a wedge at a 45 degree angle?
The way it plays out in my head, either one would look ugly.

Edit: I didn't really looked into the dev build so i don't know if that kind of function is already included

Edit^2: If it isn't in the current deb build and op was suggesting somthing different i still think it would be a useful feature :>

    Agreeing here.

    Mid-movement pitch change is needed.

Rail corners already allow to turn an entity, so you could have setup that acts somewhat like the wedges would. I agree that it'd be a REALLY nice feature to have though, since even with corners having something slide at 45 degrees is more like stairs.

I think the main application is if you want more than 1 block on the 45 degree slope in a row than you would have a choppy, sloppy, slope
