So i though of this cool weapon idea,
think of the damage pulse but then different
combine the idea of the warp gate with the damage pulse.
you need to make a 2d loop made of modules.
when you want to shoot the weapon you can choose when to fire,
you hold the left mouse button atleast 3 seconds then you can already fire with minimal dmg.
when you charge it with the left mouse button, an animation will start in the 2d loop, a blue electric like ball starts to form (same as how the damage pulse looks).
when the blue ball hits target, it will sort of explode like a damage pulse, in other words it is a damage pulse with range. you can also charge it very long, the longer you charge the more dmg.
but using some sort of formula the sphere cant grow bigger than the 2d loop is.
so small loop has a smaller max than a big loop. this could be cool for both capital and scout sized ships
the capital can install a huge loop and can do loads of dmg.
a scout can install multiple loops and then fast shoot with plasma pulses minimal charged.
this will give cool battle experiences with all cool blue spheres going around (think of a fleet battle with 2 capitals and loads of scouts)
for the 2d loop it has to be a circle otherwise the animations gets weird
