    Hello,

Yesterday, I bought this game on steam on early acces.
But the only problem I have so far that i cannot get the singleplayer to start up. I am already screwing around for 5 hours. and it doesn't want to work. It only says "connecting" and after a while of connecting it goes local 4242 something.. and that doesn't work either.
I can join servers online that isn't the problem but i want to get to know the game before i go online.
    Appreciate any answers

How long to you let it sit on connecting?

When you reach that window I posted, click tool > reset all worlds and try sandbox mode again, let it load this time. It has to generate the starting sectors before it can throw you in-game.

I did that also multieple times, First time it was 5 minutes. then it switched automaticly to load localhost;4242 or somethin glike that.

Gonna try it again 1 more time just to be sure

EDIT: Did it and keep "connecting" for 2 minutes then switches to "connecting to localhost:42"

Again, make sure you have the 'single player' button checked. Putting localhost:4242 into the multiplayer box will not work.

    Try launching a dedicated server:

Then connecting to localhost:4242 with multiplayer:

It seems like the game is unable to connect to itself. This is beyond me, sorry.

Megacrafter127 Might you be able to give a little insight into the problem?

Well, antivirus software may prevent java from opening ports, and simply sandboxes it, so the server that is launched in SP cannot be used.
Gaminglights or similar hardware is also known to be able to interfere.

Some antivirus programs still have routines running, even when disabled, only uninstalling them can get rid of those routines.
While I generally don't recommend to do so, one can increase the safety of the environment before doing so, by:
    • Not using a wireless connection, and disabling any wireless connections of devices connected to the same wired network or your computer.
    • Manually disconnecting your local network from the internet(after downloading an offline installer for the antivirus software)[removing the plug from the router is the most safe and guaranteed way to disconnect]
    • If any of the above is impossible, have another compatible antivirus software installed.

I'm currently using Avast, Never had any problem wat so ever with avast or any other game.
What virusscanner do you recommand using instead of this one?

Well, considering I'm using linux, I don't have one, and thus can't really recommend an antivirus software.
However, I recall one time where someone was having trouble with avast, reinstalling it fixed the problem though.
