    Hey,

So, i was mining an astroid, everything went fine until there showed up some pirates. I had changed the maxspeed to 150 to make everything a bit faster but then as i was running for the pirates I died (not knowing why) and there was a message that said something like: "do you really want to do that, it was travelling at 147 km/h". What does this mean?

I am guessing they killed you with a missile (since you said you died suddenly). The do you really want to do that thing is a kind of tool the prevents you from jumping out of your ship if you are travelling at high speeds which prevents you from flying 2 km away when you are travelling at high speeds.

aceface Ohhh, I never got what that meant! Also, to answer OP the missiles are kind bogus (90's outdated slag a ho! totally rad!) in that they seem to go right for the core, no matter what shielding.

To clarify, it sounds like you accidentally pressed 'R' while flying away. The popup message is a safety measure to prevent you from accidentally exiting your ship while it flies away from you. If you hit OK then you exited and may have been shot by the pirates while outside your ship (and your ship may still be drifting near that location).

The threshold for this warning is adjustable in the in-game options dialog; look for "Popup Detach Warning" near the bottom of the list. I set it very low for myself.

A bit late, but the high-speed jump prevention message shows up every time I'm killed by a sniper missile, and I'm sure I'm not pressing the eject button. It might be a bug.

Lock-on missiles: So broken, they bug the game. :p
