I think that there should be some sort of bouncy block. Which will be able to reflect certain incoming objects.

You could have massive pits then that you would be able to jump down and then be bounced back up again! :D

I don't think he was referring to weapons, just players, ships, asteroids, planets, creatures, etc.[everything that doesn't despawn when hitting something]
