I made a planet my own, gave it a crazy name so I'd recognize it, and the Starmap still shows it as 3 number coordinates.

    Is that working as intended?

Mine does the same thing, and I keep getting lost......
I definitely have that happen. I know the Planet Name appears if you use the Radar or waypoint function thing, but I think having the name of the Planet on the Starmap would be epic, and also resulting in me getting lost less.

Hmm, did you drop a faction block on the planet and changed the name in there? If you mouse over that planet in the galaxy map (p) you get 'Planet <Your Entered Name> sector coords' in single-player at least.

I don't have a name for the planet there, it just says, "Planet" and then the coordinates.

I thought it might be due to how long the name was, but now I can't even change the name of the planet. I go to rename at the Faction Module and it won't rename the planet. Any ideas?

I have the same issue SKC has.

I renamed the planet in the Faction Module, set it to home, took control of the system, yet it still says Planet 8 8 5 and a bunch of numbers. On the Galaxy Map it only shows PlanetCore when I mouse over. I am in single player survival on Medium.

Check in navigation, it may have simply renamed the plate, and not the planet. Haven't tried, though, so I dunno.

Yes, in navigation (where you can choose all the things to have waypoints or arrows and see distances) it lists the Planet by name.

It does not show the Planet name in the Starmap. And for some reason I can't change the name of my Planet once I named it. When I click "OK" for rename it doesn't do anything.

My fault, sorry guys, the name only shows in the navigation window, not on the starmap (p).
Also on faction statistics screen, at the bottom, every base is called 'Name: default base' what can't be right either if you named them.
I wonder if the not showing of named bases is related to this...

Pretty much everywhere I look my Planet's name is listed, Navigation, Faction, etc, but not the Starmap, which in my opinion is the most important place to have the name.

Is this a bug? Is it working as intended? Anyone know?

My guess is that it is an unimplemented feature.

Wait a minute, you mean you've placed a faction block on a planet and, apart from your faction name, you gave it its own unique name and that unique name shows up at the bottom of the faction statistics sheet?

No, sorry it isn't there. I wasn't really even that aware of the Faction Statistics, I had to go randomly clicking around for it. It says "Default" for the name I think.

Well, in a way that's comforting, I already feared something was wrong with my installation. ;)

You were patient enough to not reformat your computer while waiting for my response, so I give you credit for that. Haha. "Well, I uninstalled it and the bug is still there, so I guess I should reformat..."

I feel your pain, it wouldn't be so bad if planets had different names but searching for a planet called "PlanetCore" is a bit hard.
