When building a large factory, it is often difficult to recall which enhancer is linked with which factory. Having some kind of indicator would enable large factories to maintain balance - not taking an enhancer away from where it is already assigned.

Yes, stacking, etc. eliminates the need for a visual indicator, but that is not aesthetically pleasing. Mounting enhancers in the floor with grill and lights looks good, and allows a nice layout:

Perhaps a thin red tube that links the factories with their enhancers, but only displays when a factory or enhancer is selected with C or V.

    Thanks for considering.

I've had this problem too. I was thinking maybe some kind of indicator on the factory enhancer's texture would be handy. If there's a beam, there would be a LOT of beams and they wouldn't be visible at some angles.

I agree with the visibility issue, which I have in my factory now with all the connections I have going. That's why I suggested the Enhancer Link Indicator (Trademark pending......) should only be visible when a factory is selected, either with the C or V. That would cut down on some of the visual clutter in a large factory, unless it was needed.....

However, a dedicated hotkey to show connections might be nice as well......

Agree with you so much. Hopefully this comes with the HUD update. I simply don't bother with auto factories due to how difficult and finnicky it is.

HUD overlay would be a way to go. I'd even like if there were a module to build for the helmet for something like that......

What may be more useful is a way of telling what is connected to other controllers in general (so a different color highlight wireframe) and this would also be useful for weapons and whatnot.

As the factories have some minor displays on their block, why not just have a numerical readout stating how many items that factory will process on the block itself. Simple and non-obtrusive and has good immersion...

Personally, I couldn't care which factory enhancers were being used, but this could also be done with a "serial number" display as well... Basic Factory 1 might display "BF-1 : 5" And 4 factory Enhancers would display "BF-1" while linked to that factory... An un-linked enhancer could have its displays turned off... a factory with no enhancers would merely be "BF-1 : 1"....
