launcher wont open

just updated my mac from 10.9.5 to yosemite, any upon opening starmade i got this message: To view this web content, you need to install the Java Runtime Environment. so i followed a link and downloaded everything and checked i downloaded it and java website says everything is ok. but starmade disagrees and tells me to download it with the same message. ive tried restarting steam, downloading the launcher from the webpage (still get the same error message) please help.

Also, back while i could play the game there were a lot of textures missing or replaced with grey blocks, and every time either i or someone else decided to warp within 2 sectors of me, my game decided to crash. please fix this too.

Install the JDK instead of the JRE. That fixes the launch issue.
