Looking for a relatively quiet server.

Hi

I've recently started playing StarMade and I've very shortly been on Elwyn Eternity and on FeedUpTheBeast servers, and even tho they are probably good servers I am looking for a server more quiet. A server where I don't have to cruise around the whole system in a crappy starter ship to find a shop with stocked Power Reactors (I know I can manufacture them but to make credits for those parts I need a ship that can mine properly and I can't do that with only 10 reactors).

Just something hosted by a couple friends maybe, something that doesn't have a fancy own website and is ranked in the Top 10 on the servers page.

If someone has a server with just a couple people online instead of dozens, I'd gladly join if I may.

Making your own server isn't hard at all. In fact someone can log into your SP universe if you are on the same LAN. You can also make a dedicated server on a spare box. Or if your desktop is up to the task you can run a dedi, login to it (same as SP actually) then open ports and whatnot to allow someone to join over the internet. Just crack open port 4242 (default) and give your buddy the IP. That trick should still work.

No matter what server you join. You don't have control unless it's yours. This means rollbacks, universe wipes and possibly issues with other players. Plus the game is still in Alpha. This means a new release might 'break' some stuff while trying to rebalance or adding something new.

Sooo, we are on the bottom of the top ten list. We also have a semi-fancy website that I created and manage myself. We are heavily rp focused though and that's not for everyone. Because of that though we have a smaller more tight knit community than some others. Come chat with us on the site, or join the server to see if its a good fit for you.

i play on a nice little server called stardrift it's sectors are a ok size it has a speed limit of 300 (without overdrive) it has a little community there is a whitelist but it is easy to apply to and i am not sure of this but i think the whitelist might be comming off on the 17/12/14 but i am not sure it is buy with credits so starter ships are easy to get and have a quite nice amount of spawning credits and the people are just nice in generel unless they shoot you but that normally ends badly so yeah i would suggest stardrift nice quite server that you can build PVP and RP on here are the links to the page http://starmadedock.net/threads/stardrift-whitelisted.98/ there is also a google+ page that i go on often so if you need whitelist these would be the places to go some rules a little outdated on the website page so yeah there are many nice little servers you can play on even if they are not the most higest ranking servers they are still quite good

I have just the server for you. We are a small group of friends who play casually. The server has few modifications, other than that docking clearance is ignored. There are only a couple of faction controlled sectors and the vast majority of the galaxy is unexplored. I will check with our admin to see about an invite.

PvP is allowed, but none of us actually do it.

Thanks for all the replies, my search is over. I have settled on KiloZulu's server and it is indeed exactly what I wasa looking for.
