Help with StarMade Mac

I have a mac and I saw this game. I downloaded the demo on steam to see what the game is and maybe buy it once I get paid but java is not working with it. Can anyone help me?

Also, Should I buy the game from the official Starmade website or steam (is there a difference)?

Could you post your mac specs and Java version please? Do you get a particular error message?

then hit enter.

Java 8 Update 25

When I try to open the demo it says
"To view this web content, you need to install java Runtime Environment.[DOUBLEPOST=1418075357,1418075293][/DOUBLEPOST]

When I click more info it takes me to a java page that wants me to install the same version of Java

Try the JDK instead of the JRE, that helped someone else with the same problem.

Or try this. It will instal Java 6 alongside your current install, this is what i and another team member are personally using.

installing the JDK instead already worked :D

This worked for me (and was a smaller, faster download).
