So i was playing on EE, then i went near a star inside a ship core with shields and hull, and for some reason it started killing the character like if i was outside a ship.

And today i was also playing on EE when 2 guys died after warping inside a star(accidentally, and on 3 secs), which made me make this thread

Is this a bug or not?

well, what do you think? its not a bug,you are in a damn star xD
how big was your ship when you died? if its smaller than 80m,then yeah you will die pretty fast, shields dont matter

you cant see astronaut HP while in core, when you are in core you only see Core "health" and that was draining, you must have had a small hole somewhere in the ship

Wait, the ship needs to be airtight?! Cool, now I have to seal off my core chamber :)

yup,i tested that many times,if you have a hole in the core room, and sun can "shine" though it on the core...BAM!!! you are dead. close the blast doors commander!!

but even if your core room is sealed, and your whole ship airtight. the heat will eat through your hull fast,so in a 40-50 m ship, you have 1 minute before the sun breaches your hull and systems

Oh, so the 2 guys that died probably had a hole on their ships then, good to know that it just doesnt kill the astronaut HP even inside a 100x100x100 cube of advanced armor

Metal gets hot when exposed to heat.
Your ship is made of metal.
There are no heat sink blocks available at this time.

I'd be more concerned if the ship took damage without the pilot flat out dying.

That's when you bring a 500m long ship with 4 thick advanced armor!
I can go to sleep and still live when I come back :D

No, the purpose of this thread was to see if the Astronaut taking damage while inside a ship core was a bug.(Which already got answered as it being true only if the ship core is exposed)

With that 100x100x100 advanced armor example i meant, that it's good that it doesn't start killing the astronaut while in a super armored ship core a few kms from a star
