Hi! First I tought of it as a Black Light related item, which would simply show all the ships lighted by it, but since the light is kinda buggy right now, I tought, why not a sonar? Well, no air in space, for the sound to propagate, but there are radio waves, which could be used as a sonar, but more like a radar, which would use a 3D screen of the sector in the left-top part of the screen, or replace the 2D minimap with a 3D minimap (movable by mouse if a specifik key is pressed) with the option to maximise (like the galaxy map, but maximum range being the maximum range of the (let's call it, for now, at least) Analyser (which I think should be twice the maximum distance of the sniper; also, it should require no Amplifiers to work, but to increase the initial range (30 blocks) to the maximum range you'll need 50 Amplifiers).

Well, I'll leave a poll there, because of the broken forum up/down votes system (since there are no down ranking systems in place)

Uh... we should definitely not call this sonar if it is just based off radar. Radar works fine in outer-space. Sonar does not and we do not need to confuse the two. In fact sonar and radar work essentially exactly the same, save for the medium that is used. The waves bounce off the object and are detected. But again, sonar does not work in space as you mentioned. We could use (for the sake of an interesting title) other names from the electromagnetic spectrum. Cosmic Radar Module sounds better than sonar.
